Enthusiasm can feel fleeting, yet it's the fuel for personal transformation and optimal health. When we approach life with enthusiasm, our bodies release neuromodulators that boost immunity, enhance cognitive performance, and improve emotional wellbeing. So by simply adding small doses of enthusiasm into our day, we create a greater zest for life.

Fake it ‘til you make it!

The mind doesn’t know the difference, so when we shift our focus from potential difficulties to ‘what is the best that could happen?’, the release of neuromodulators actually promotes our brain health.

Action for today:

Every morning this week tackle your most challenging task first, with deliberate optimism:

  1. Take a deep breath, visualize a successful outcome & its positive impact on you.

  2. Break the task into manageable steps & celebrate completing each one.

  3. Approach obstacles with a problem-solving mindset - focus on how you can overcome them.

  4. Afterward, reflect on your lessons and express gratitude for the experience, regardless of the outcome.

Enthusiastic movement and mindful eating boost energy, fueling natural motivation and enthusiasm.

Action for today:

Take an ‘enthusiasm walk’ – notice five things that spark your interest. Rewire the brain by finding joy in small moments, like appreciating your body’s mechanics.

Enthusiasm connects us deeply with our authentic selves and others. It naturally ebbs and flows, but remembering moments when your passion was contagious and inspired others can reignite your own spark - reflect on why, and go recreate it to get a jumpstart.

Action for today:

Choose one routine task and find a novel way to make it more engaging. This could be as simple as turning on your favorite upbeat song and dancing while vacuuming.
